After years of stalled plans, negotiations for a large liquified natural gas export plant at Lindi are ‘proceeding well’, as President Samia Suluhu Hassan’s reforming administration turns heads with investor-friendly pledges. Her government had reconvened talks with Shell, Equinor and ExxonMobil even before Russia’s invasion of Ukraine forced a reassessment of global gas supply options, write Jon Marks and African Energy staff.
