South Africa: Ibhubesi gas project changes hands

Australia’s Sunbird Energy has agreed to buy a 76% stake in the Ibhubesi gas project from Forest Oil and Anschutz for an initial $1.5m. Development of the estimated 870bcf Ibhubesi field has been mooted for some time but has been held up by uncertainty over how the gas should be monetised. The other 24% is held by PetroSA.
