Senegal: Floating gas storage arrives in place

State utility Senelec said a floating storage and regasification unit (FSRU), the Karamol LNGT Powership Africa, arrived in Senegalese waters on 31 May from Singapore. The vessel has been built for the Karamol joint venture of Turkey’s Karpowership and Japan’s Mitsui OSK Lines and means Senegal’s electricity network will soon be party powered by liquified natural gas (LNG) for the first time.
