Senegal: Consultant sought for distribution grid work

Société Nationale d’Electricité du Sénégal (Senelec) has invited prequalification applications by 10 April for consulting services for the restructuring and extension of electricity distribution networks in nine cities and associated metering installations. The contract, which includes the procurement and installation of 50,000 prepayment meters and 17,000 smart meters, is to be funded by the German government via KfW Development Bank. The project, which aims to improve the efficiency, quality and service reliability of power supply in St Louis.
