Nigeria: CWE signs Souapiti contract

Cummins Cogeneration has signed a power purchase agreement with Sapele Power Plc for a 300MW gas-fired power plant. Chairman Deepak Khilnani said at the signing ceremony in London that the plant would use Cummins combined heat and power lean-burn gas generator sets, which emit up to five times less nitrogen oxide than comparable diesel generators and near-zero particulate matter.The Sapele power plant in Delta State, with an installed capacity of 1,020MW, was bought by a consortium of China Machinery Engineering Corporation and Eurafric Energy in 2014.
