Frontier drilling comes at a price

While oil prices remain resolutely high, recent wells underline the high cost of drilling in Africa’s frontier areas. A dry well drilled by Hess earlier this year in Egypt’s North Red Sea Block 1 cost more than $250m, industry sources say.
