Egypt: EGPC, Egas extend bid deadline

Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation (EGPC) and Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Company (Egas) have extended the closing date for their 2013 licensing rounds. Bids are now due by noon on 3 July. The rounds, which launched in December, were previously due to close on 19 May. EGPC is offering 15 blocks in the Gulf of Suez and Western Desert, while Egas is offering eight blocks in the Mediterranean and Nile Delta; three of these blocks are onshore and five are offshore. A total of 15 blocks were offered in Egas’ last bid round in 2012, eight of which were awarded.
