Côte d’Ivoire: Third gas power plant mooted again, possibly at San-Pédro

Côte d’Ivoire is still planning for a third gas-fired power plant, which is likely to operate as a mid-merit or peaking plant to help manage variable renewable power. It is not yet clear whether this plant will be located at a site near Abidjan, like Azito and Ciprel. There has been talk about repurposing the 700MW San-Pédro coal project as a CCGT unit.
