Cameroon: Tecnimont contract at Sonara

A consortium of Italy’s Maire Tecnimont and Turkey’s Ustay has won a contract for the expansion of the Sonara refinery at Limbe. The Sonara Phase II expansion involves the installation of a new hydrocracker complex at the refinery to improve the quality of refined products. The scope of work envisages engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning and start-up of the facility for state refiner Société Nationale de Raffinage, for a total value of $715m, with 86% of the value to Tecnimont and 14% to Ustay. Completion is expected by H2 2017.
