Actis Energy 4 fund closes at $2.75bn

Actis has announced final closing on its fourth energy fund in just over seven months with commitments of $2.75bn, compared to an initial target of $2bn. Actis Energy 4 will invest in Latin America, Africa and Asia, targeting controlling investments in electricity generation businesses. Actis said the fund already had “an extremely strong pipeline with $2bn of deal equity either completed or in late stage including four large scale regional platforms”.
