AIM-listed Edenville Energy has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with China’s Sinohydro establishing a strategic partnership to develop the Rukwa coal-to-power project in western Tanzania. Sinohydro, which carried out technical and financial studies for the project in H2 2016, will carry out a bankable feasibility study for the power plant element, while Edenville will be responsible for the coal mine and fuel supply. The MoU sets out the basic terms of the partnership, with the aim of proceeding to a formal contract where Sinohydro will have the role of engineering, procurement and construction contractor.
