General Electric Company of Libya has extended its 200MW sel power module contract with fast-track power provider APR Energy. The company said the provision of 200MW of diesel power modules, announced in June 2013 as an expansion to APR’s 250MW gas turbine contract in Libya, had created the largest single contract in the history of the fast-track power industry. The combined 450MW of energy provides interim power while Libya continues to rebuild and improve its infrastructure. The country’s problems with power cuts are continuing, partly due to gas supply interruptions because of protests and blockades at eastern fields.
