Kenya’s nuclear plans advance with China agreement, IAEA mission

The Kenya Nuclear Electricity Board (KNEB) and the China General Nuclear Power Corporation (CGN) signed a memorandum of understanding on 7 September that will see China assist with training and skills development as well as providing technical support for site selection and feasibility studies, including safety analysis and environmental impact assessments. CGN will also introduce Kenyan officials to its technology.“This is an important partnership on the road to the realisation of our nuclear power programme,” said KNEB chairman Ochilo Ayacko.
