Ghana: Gas import scheme for Tema

Issue 317 - 11 Feb 2016 | 1 minute read

Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC) and Quantum Power have signed heads of terms for the construction and operation of a liquefied natural gas (LNG) storage, regasification and delivery facility at Tema. The agreement, announced on 9 February, follows a firm contract announced in November between Nigerian joint venture West African Gas Ltd and Golar LNG Ltd for a floating storage and regasification unit (FSRU) for another LNG import scheme at Tema port. Quantum Power said in a statement that operations were scheduled to start at end-2016.
