Algeria is being courted by France’s Areva and other potential nuclear suppliers for a project that might use uranium deposits from the deep south Hoggar area. This was discussed in mid-November by visiting President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner of Argentina, which provided Algeria’s first small Triga Mark II reactor.
