Tanzania: ESIA certificate awarded for Mbeya coal power project

Kibo Mining announced on 27 October that it has received certification from the government for the environmental and social impact assessments (ESIAs) for its Mbeya coal mine and 300MW minemouth power project in south-west Tanzania. The ESIA application was made in February.“This is terrific news for Kibo and brings us another step closer to construction,” Kibo Mining chief executive Louis Coetzee said.
