Kenya: Tenders expected Q1 2018 for 10MW biomass project

Nairobi-based waste-to-energy developer Asticom Kenya Ltd has announced that it intends to issue bid documents for preliminary work on the 10MW Kibera municipal solid waste project in Nairobi, Kenya. The work is being funded by a project preparation grant from the African Development Bank-administered Sustainable Energy Fund for Africa. Work to be procured includes detailed engineering designs for the power plant and balance of plant, an environmental and social impact assessment, legal advisory services, and financial and transaction advisory services. The project is a pilot phase for several larger developments across Kenya at Ngong and Kitengela in Kajiado county, Kibera and Kawangware in Nairobi county, and Mombasa.
