NamPower seeks renewable services consultant

Tender
Issue 497 - 12 Dec 2023 - By Marc Howard | 1 minute read

State utility Namibia Power Corporation (NamPower) has called for expressions of interest (EoI) from consultants to provide transaction advisory services for the World Bank Group’s Namibia Renewable Energy Scale-Up Support Project (NRESUSP).

It is the first tender under the $4.4m grant-funded NRESUSP, following its announcement in October (AE 493/18).

Technical, legal and advisory services are needed to help NamPower structure and tender bankable renewable energy (RE) projects.

The envisaged projects are a 40MWp solar PV independent power producer (IPP) plant and a 300MW wind project developed as an IPP or public/private partnership. NamPower is preparing to conduct solar and wind resource assessments, site studies, environmental and social studies, and feasibility studies.

The tender is open to any international firm meeting the criteria.

Applications must be submitted in hard copy to the NamPower offices in Windhoek by 26 January 2024.

Further details can be requested until 19 January 2024 from Mathew Nelenge at the Procurement Management Unit at +264 61205 2324 or email [email protected].

(The procurement office is closed from 18 December until 12 January inclusive.)
