Terje Pilskog will take up the role of Oslo-based Scatec’s chief executive on 1 May, as the renewables developer’s head Raymond Carlsen steps down after 13 years. Pilskog will head the company at a critical moment of growth, as the major solar player diversifies.

Oslo Stock Exchange-listed Scatec has, in recent years, launched a containerised solar leasing platform Release (AE 452/12, 401/7), acquired major hydropower developer SN Power (AE 425/18), and begun to enter the green hydrogen market with deals in Egypt and South Africa (AE 448/6, 445/15).

Scatec has more than 3.5GW of renewable capacity in operation and aims to reach 15GW under construction or in operation by end-2025.

Scatec chairman John Anderson said: “Pilskog has been instrumental in the strategic development of Scatec and has first-hand experience with both commercial and operational aspects of the company. After close to 20 years in renewables he possesses deep industry insight.”

Pilskog joined Scatec in 2013 as executive vice president project development and finance; he moved in January 2021 to become executive vice president for solar and wind project development. Prior to Scatec he was senior vice president for systems and business development at the Renewable Energy Corporation and before that was an associate principle at McKinsey & Company.
