Map
Issue 388
14 March 2019

Revised in March 2019, this map provides a detailed overview of the power sector in Malawi.

The locations of power generation facilities that are operating, under construction or planned are shown by type – including liquid fuels, hydroelectric, solar (PV), geothermal and biomass.

Transmission lines are also shown, ranging from 33/66kV to 400KV.

This map contains a graph displaying Malawi's installed capacity and another that displays the country's energy mix as well.

The map is available as a PDF file using eps graphics, meaning that there is no loss of resolution as the file is enlarged. Price: £70 or available as part of a full subscription.

Power generation data was drawn from our African Energy Live Data platform, which contains project level detail on more than 5,500 power plants and projects across Africa.
