Green hydrogen projects in Africa map
Issue 480
16 March 2023

Published March 2023, this map illustrates 30-plus green hydrogen (GH2) projects planned across Africa. Project locations are indicated on the map alongside notes detailing project developers and renewable energy capacities.

An inset shows Egypt's planned green energy corridor, which aims to facilitate the integration of large-scale renewables into the grid to supply national development, green hydrogen, water desalination and interconnection projects.

Two charts show the capacity of reported GH2 projects by country (columns showing renewable power capacity and electrolyser capacity) and potential GNH3 output using GH2 feedstock, by country.

The map is presented as a PDF file using eps graphics, meaning that there is no loss of resolution as the file is enlarged.
