South Africa: Sunbird wins EA for Ibhubesi

The Department of Environmental Affairs granted an Environmental Authorisation (EA) on 3 August for development of the Ibhubesi gas project. The EA authorises Sunbird Energy to install a production platform in Block 2A off the west coast of South Africa, as well as a 400km offshore production pipeline from the production platform to a southern shore-crossing site at Grotto Bay and a northern shore-crossing site at St Helena Bay East on the Saldanha Peninsula
