Mauritania proves not such a hot prospect as bad news mounts

BGs withdrawal from Mauritania is the latest piece of bad news for a country where so much excitement accompanied the start of production in February 2006. Lower reserves estimates, plus the new governments suspicion of its predecessors contracts, have combined to deter the UK gas major.
