Danish wind turbine manufacturer Vestas has won an engineering, procurement and construction contract for the 25.5MW Cabeólica wind project

Portugal’s Martifer Solar inaugurated its second solar photovoltaic power plant in Cape Verde on 2 November. The 5MW PV plant, built on a fixed structure covering 13 hectares in Cidade da Praia on Santiago Island, is expected to generate annual output of 8.12GWh.

The European Investment Bank and African Development Bank have approved financing totalling E45m ($56m) for the Cabeólica wind power project being developed on a public-private partnership basis by InfraCo, Electra and the Cape Verde government.
