Fitch Ratings on 26 August revised Gabon’s long-term foreign-currency issuer default rating to positive from stable and affirmed the rating at B-. The revised outlook reflected improvements in Gabon’s fiscal position, given higher oil revenue and “continued restraint with current spending, anchored by an IMF programme,” Fitch said.
