Wilson is an electrical engineer with more than 15 years of experience in the power sector covering electricity distribution, system operations and control, and electricity trading. As SAPP’s chief engineer markets, Wilson is responsible for providing the enabling environment for maximum electricity market trading through optimal planning and management. He directs the SAPP trading arrangements including design, development, and operations of the market among the SAPP membership and future market coupling with other power pools.
Before joining the SAPP, Wilson worked for the Eswatini Electricity Company from 2007, rising through the ranks to lead system operations and control in 2015. He has been involved in various committees responsible for, among others, tariff determination and PPA negotiations. He is a former SAPP operations sub-committee (OSC) chairperson.
