Jules has over 22 years of expertise in investment banking, commercial banking, and guarantees. In his current role as managing director for the Hardest-to-Reach debt fund, Jules focuses on providing debt facilities to companies operating solar home systems. The fund also supports mini-grid projects in the hardest-to-reach countries, with the aim of facilitating access to energy for those who are in need.
Previously, Jules served as the co-CEO of Spiro, an innovative electric two-wheeler company in Africa. Under his leadership, the company achieved significant milestones, with approximately 11,000 bikes on the road and presence across five countries.
Jules began his career at a microfinance institution in Cameroon. In 2004, he joined Ecobank Cameroon, contributing to the development of its corporate banking activities. He has also held the position of managing director of Africa at Guarantco, a guarantee institution dedicated to infrastructure and local capital market development.
Jules holds a master’s degree in business law from the University of Yaoundé, Cameroon, and an MBA from Cass Business School, City University of London.
