South Africa: Nersa approves 40MW solar plant for Gold Fields

The National Energy Regulator of South Africa (Nersa) on 25 February approved an electricity generation licence for the construction of a 40MW solar power plant at the South Deep mine in Gauteng province. Gold Fields said that once Nersa’s acting chief executive had authorised the licence, all the regulatory approvals to proceed with the project would be in place.
