Nigeria reports $10bn of deals with China

Nigeria signed 13 deals with China worth $10bn during the 3-4 September Forum on China-Africa Cooperation in Beijing, the Presidency has announced. No details were given other than that the agreements covered direct investment, job creation, infrastructure financing and ICT. Several agreements are preliminary, or involve existing projects, and it is not clear how many will result in concrete progress. Among the projects, China National Petroleum Corporation committed to help Nigeria implement the $2.8bn Ajaokuta-Kaduna-Kano gas pipeline.
