Namibia: Alten confirms Hardap solar award

Spain’s Alten Energías Renovables has confirmed the award of a contract by Namibia Power Corporation (NamPower) to develop a 45.5MWp solar photovoltaic (PV) plant at Mariental. In addition to commissioning the estimated $45m project, NamPower is also an investor in the Alten Hardap project company with a 19% stake, alongside local investors and the Spanish parent company.Under the terms of the contract, Alten will be responsible for completing development of the plant, securing finance, and managing the construction and subsequent operations and maintenance.
