Kosmos partners Timis offshore Senegal

Issue 284 - 12 Sep 2014 | 1 minute read

Kosmos Energy has farmed in to two blocks offshore northern Senegal adjacent to its Mauritania acreage. The Dallas-based company will operate the St Louis Profond and Cayar Profond blocks with a 60% stake, while a 10% stake is held by state oil company Petrosen and 30% by Timis Corporation via Petro-Tim Senegal, a company founded by controversial entrepreneur Frank Timis and President Macky Sall’s brother Aliou Sall. Dolphin Geophysical has already started work on a 7,000km2 3D survey over the blocks, which were awarded to Petro-Tim in 2012.
