IMF urges higher tariffs

The International Monetary Fund has stressed the need for tariff increases to ensure the viability of new generating projects to combat power shortages (AE 134/8). An IMF mission visited Zambia on 13-27 February to continue talks on a new economic programme, set to go before the IMF board in May.
