On-grid renewable capacity remains low in Tanzania

Tanzanian Electrical Supply Company (Tanesco) has still not signed a power purchase agreement (PPA) for a renewable energy (RE) independent power project (IPP) of more than 10MW capacity. This is a glaring omission according to one participant at the Africa Investment Exchange: Energy in Transition meeting in London in mid-April, given Tanzania is endowed with excellent wind and solar resources.
