GreenYellow solar deal weaning Mauritius off coal

France’s GreenYellow Océan Indien, part of the Casino Group, has signed an agreement with Mauritius’ Central Electricity Board (CEB) to build a 13.86MW plant at Arsenal, in the north of the island. The project, which is expected to generate more than 22GWh, is the second solar PV plant to be developed by GreenYellow for CEB. The company brought online the 16.3MW Solitude solar PV plant as minority shareholder alongside Mauritius construction company Joonas & Co. in February 2019.
