Ghana: First power from Bui

The first 133MW unit of the 400MW Bui hydroelectric power plant in Ghana was officially inaugurated on 3 May in a ceremony attended by the Ghanaian President John Dramani Mahama. The engineering, procurement and engineering contract was awarded to China’s Sinohydro in August 2007 and the facility is expected to be completed by year-end.
