Gambia: BP takes disputed block south of SNE

BP has signed an agreement with the government to explore Block A1, which lies immediately to the south of Cairn Energy’s SNE and Fan discoveries offshore Senegal. Blocks A1 and A4 were previously licensed to African Petroleum, which has filed a case at the International Centre for the Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID) disputing the government’s cancellation of its licence.
