Eni has announced a gas discovery with the first exploration well on the North El Hammad licence in the Nile Delta, extending the prolific Great Nooros area to the west. The Bashrush discovery is located in 22 metres of water, 11km from the coast, 12km north-west of the Nooros field and about 1km west of the Baltim South West field, both of which are in production.
