Nigeria’s conflict zones and infrastructure

Nigeria conflict and infrastructure map
Issue 451
07 December 2021

Published in December 2021, this map focuses on conflict and security incidents across Nigeria.

Sites of major violent events and maritime piracy are marked alongside major infrastructure, including power generation and transmission, oil and gas fields, pipelines oil refineries, tanker terminals and LNG facilities.

State boundaries are marked with the map shaded to show state death rates over the period January 2018 to November 2021.

The bottom of the map features three charts illustrating Cumulative deaths by perpetrator (May 2011 to November 2021), Monthly deaths (January 2018 to November 2021), and Events involving identified victims of abductions/forced disappearance (January 2018 to April 2021).

The map is presented as a PDF file using eps graphics, meaning that there is no loss of resolution as the file is enlarged.
