Tunisia: Solar and wind tenders

31 May 2018 | 1 minute read

Tunisia’s Ministry of Energy, Mines, and Renewable Energy announced on 30 May that a further 70MW of solar capacity will be tendered, along with an increased wind capacity for a tender announced last year. The deadline for both tenders is 15 August.

The solar tender is the second round of a programme which saw six 10MW and four 1MW projects awarded on 30 May. The latest tender is identical in allocation, with six 10MW and ten 1MW projects on offer.

A wind power tender started up just before the first round of the solar procurement in May 2017 but has taken longer to come to fruition. However, the ministry has increased the allocation from 60MW to 120MW for projects up to 30MW. 10MW is also available for projects up to 5MW.
