Italy’s Studio Pietrangeli has been awarded a €1.6m contract to produce a feasibility study and design outline for the Kikonge multipurpose dam, hydropower and irrigation. The contract has been a long time coming, with expressions of interest published in November 2016 and proposals fully opened by May 2018. The work will cover the whole project, including the hydropower plant and high voltage transmission line.
