The 30MW Gossas solar photovoltaic project in Senegal, which is being developed by Mbaye Hadj, has been selected in the second solar incubator run by Dubai-based developer Phanes Group. Phanes Group will take a stake in the project and work with Hadj to bring the project to financial close. Phanes Group chief operating officer Andrea Haupts said, “ultimately, Hadj’s project convinced the evaluation panel not only with its strong corporate social responsibility component but also with his knowledge and commitment to the region where he hails from. We believe in his determination to bring his project to life in a challenging market environment, where our expertise and training can make a difference”.

Asis Energy Solutions’ 50MW Kitaka solar project in Mozambique won Phanes Group’s first solar incubator in October 2017.
