Amea Power has started construction at the Bondoukou solar plant in the north-eastern Gontougo region. The $60m project will be one of Côte d’Ivoire’s first privately-owned, utility-scale renewable plants. Two other large PV plays by private developers are also advancing, as Abidjan encourages solar investment to diversify its on-grid energy mix.
