Burkina Faso: Transmission tenders

Société Nationale d'Électricité du Burkina Faso (Sonabel) on 16 September launched three tenders for the construction of transmission lines. Two tenders relate to the 90kV Koudougou-Zagtouli line, both with submission deadlines of 12 November and site visits on 8 October. The West African Development Bank is funding the contracts.

One contract is to build the 90kV line as well as a 2km extension and replacement of the cable guard. The other is for construction of a 90/33kV substation at Koudougou with a double-circuit 33kV line and fibre optic cable as well as integration of both Koudougou and Zagtouli substations with the control system of the Centre Natinonal de Conduite.

The third tender is for the construction of a 90kV double-circuit transmission line between Ouagadougou Nord-Ouest substation and Kossodo substation. The contract is being funded by the African Development Bank as part of the Yeleen rural electrification project and work is expected to last for 14 months. Submissions are due by 13 November.
