An African Energy webinar on the latest trends in North Africa's power generation industry.
North Africa’s power mix is dominated by gas-fired generation, with the exception of Morocco which depends on coal for baseload. But it also has two of the African continent’s fastest adopters of renewable power – Egypt and Morocco.
Moreover, as one of the places in the world blessed with superabundant solar and wind resources it may yet become a substantial exporter of green energy, especially to the adjacent European market.
To answer these questions, we will be presenting the latest data from African Energy Live Data, the most comprehensive database of power generation plants and projects across the continent.
Our synthesis of data and on-the-ground reporting will include an examination of North African installed generation capacity by country, fuel and renewable/non-renewable capacity for the period 2010-2027.
Analysis and commentary will be led by African Energy's Head of data Ajay Ubhi with
Managing director and North Africa senior analyst John Hamilton.
The meeting is free for all AIX members and African Energy newsletter and Live Data subscribers
The presentation and a recording of the webinar will be made available to all participants.
