The National Energy Regulator of South Africa (Nersa) has issued a revised decision on Eskom’s tariffs, after a previous decision was set aside in a High Court judgement last year.
In a decision announced in late January, the regulator approved a plan to allow Eskom additional revenue totalling R4.75bn ($322m) for 2014-15, 2015-16, and 2016-17 via the regulatory clearing account (RCA).
