AEP Energy Africa listed as a special purpose acquisition company (Spac) on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange (JSE) AltX board on 30 June. The company, the first black economic empowerment clean energy enterprise to list, will focus on identifying and acquiring assets linked to the creation of clean energy infrastructure with a particular focus on liquefied natural gas, in South Africa and elsewhere in Africa.A Spac is a publicly traded cash shell with a specific mandate to acquire or merge with other companies or assets.
