South Africa: ABB order for Kathu PV plant

ABB has won an order worth around $25m to supply electrical and control systems for the 75MW Kathu photovoltaic (PV) power plant in Northern Cape Province. The plant is being developed by South African construction company WBHO and Italian renewable energy developer Building Energy in the Kalahari desert close to the town of Kathu and to the Sishen open-pit iron ore mine.
