Nigeria: IAEA research reactor initiative

The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has launched a peer review service looking at research reactors with a mission to Nigeria, which plans a second reactor. The Integrated Nuclear Infrastructure Review for Research Reactors found “notable progress” on the project, expected to begin operation in 2025. The reactor will provide resources for healthcare, industry, agriculture and training. It will not generate power.
