France’s Engie has taken a 40% stake in eleQtra’s 50MW Ada Wind power project in the eastern Greater Accra Region. The two companies on 12 June announced the signing of a joint development agreement defining the terms and schedule for the development and construction of the scheme, which is expected to require an investment of approximately $120m and to start operations in early 2019. Initial studies have been completed with funding from the US Trade and Development Agency.
