Algeria: Sonatrach reverses output, export declines

Issue 327 - 08 Jul 2016 | 1 minute read

After several years of decline, Sonatrach claims it is putting its problems behind it. It expects to increase oil and gas exports by 10% to 108mtoe by the end of 2016, compared to 98.1mtoe in 2015. This year it expects to produce 69mtoe of oil and 132.2bcm of gas. This result is a reversal of recent trends. Presenting Sonatrach’s annual report on 27 June, president director-general Amine Mazouzi said that total production fell by just over 2% in 2015 to 191mtoe compared to 186.8mtoe in 2014.
